How often do women "accidentally" get pregnant?

I’ve heard cases where a couple agreed to never have kids before they get married. But the wife changes her mind (sadly) but her husband still resists. She plots a scheme to do whatever it takes to get pregnant, such as poking holes in a condom, or lying on birth control. She gets pregnant, which causes the man to hate her and abandon her and the child.

How often do women succeed in getting pregnant "accidentally"? Why would they do that? Is it to keep a man?

As for me, I would hate to be in that situation because I’m childfree (no judging). If men never want children, they should have vasectomies before they settle down with a real, good woman.
Yeah, and the ones who left me hateful responses are blocked. And what does race have to do with not wanting children?

Unfortunately it happens quite often. BUT I have to say it is just as much the mans fault as it is the womans. Everyone knows birthcontrol or condoms are NOT 100% so they should always know that engaging in sex could result in pregnancy. When it comes to pregnancy I dont think there are any "accidents" since both parties are going in knowing nothing is 100% effective. If a man tries to blame a woman for "accidently" getting pregnant, then that man is an idiot. I agree with you and think that if a man wants to remain childree they should get a vasectomy as well as women should get their tubes tied if they want to remain childfree.

Not sure on how often, but this seems more like a statement in question disguise.

That’s true. That’s wrong for a girl to do that. She should respect the guys decision and should atleast tell him that she changed her mind.

Its pretty sad how some women do that. A child should be born to people who BOTH want the child. As for success rates on this, Im not too sure. They do it because they think the man will stick around to help them… which ends up being the exact opposite lots of the time.

I’ve heard stories where it was the other way around also as well as the scenarios you’re sharing regarding women succeeding to get pregnant.

Its not a very smart idea for people to just have children to stay with their significant other. In the long run it usually creates tension / strain on relationships. I feel bad for the children.

I don’t believe in accidents though. People _– men and women — know the responsibilities that come with sexual intercourse.

I am sure that as long as women are ovulating, they can ‘accidentally’ get pregnant.

Well the thing that gets me angry is how so many girls "fall pregnant" & they dont even want a baby so they get an abortion, & then theirs these girls that so badly want a baby & its very hard for them to get pregnant, i hate it that girls are so ungreatful like that & selfish when theirs people out there that are craving for a child & then others fall pregnant just like that, yet they dont want the baby & get rid of it

I "accidentally" got pregnant with my second child. I love my son and prefer to call him a "surprise." It wasn’t any scheming on my part … my birth control failed … plain and simple. You are making it sound like any time there is an unplanned pregnancy, the woman secretly planned it. Give me a break!

wow you got some hateful woman responses there. jajaja.i think they do it because they think they are never gona find someone like the person they are with at the moment which is stupid because should respect that decision instead of thinking about herself or himself , think more about when the kid s born.

if a man does that and doesn’t tell his wife then that man is very selfish! if your wife really wants children you should want her to have them.

Well, I have to say that I didn’t think I wanted children. I would lie to my family and parents like I was into having kids in the future, but in my heart, I wasn’t……until I was about 27. Then, this overwhelming feeling of wanting a family consumed me. It was a natural thing for me. I felt very maternal all of a sudden and children were beautiful to me. I can’t explain it, but women do change their minds. It’s not really their fault, it’s just something that happens. It’s not that they are lying or anything.

As far as men never wanting children, well, that can change too. For that reason, I don’t think a man should have a vasectomy until he is much, much older. I know a man who changed his mind when he met a woman he fell for and he wanted children with her so bad, but it was too late for him. It’s really sad.

I "accidentally" got pregnant. Now I have a 3 month old daughter. My boyfriend (now husband) and I decided early that we wanted children. We had a 3 year plan to travel and enjoy our engagement, marriage and then children. Well, I got pregnant and skip to the end. We now have a 3 month old. I didn’t try to get pregnant. I was actually on the pill and was taking antibiotics (which I didn’t know interferes with birth control). Sometime it’s a situation like that.

I can’t tell you how often a woman "succeeds" in accidentally getting pregnant, but a woman who does it to keep a man is wrong for that. However, I feel for the woman who is so desperate for a child that will do it for her own livelihood.

Well i know that some woman do "accidentally" get pregnant but… i also know how some men will claim that they have had a vasectomy just so they can have sex w/o a condom. i think that more men think that their girls "accidentally" get pregnant than really do…i also think a lot of it is improper condom/BC uses or no condom/BC uses at all *cry*
