i no its best to sleep on your side when pregnant and i every night i go to sleep on my side but i keep waking up on my back and i dont know how long i have been that way for. i have been told that sleeping on your back can cut off the blood flow and oxygen supply to the baby apparently, but what i want to know is in what way is this going to harm the baby? like could it cause the baby to have disabililties or damage his brain somehow if his oxygen supply is being cut off every night? has anyone slept on their back through their whole pregnancy and their baby has been perfectly healthy? i have asked this question before but im asking again coz im stressed about it and the answers i got last time didnt help me. oh and please dont tell me just to use extra pillows to stay on my side cause i tried that and it doesnt work. im 26 weeks preg. thanks.
I dont think it would cause any major damage like that. I layed on my back pretty much the whole time during my first pregnancy and she is healthy as can be. She is very smart. I wouldnt worry about it to much but it is best if you lay on your side. I hope this helps but I did sleep on my back my whole first pregnancy and the baby came out completely healthy

You should definitely separate them immediately. Rats become sexually mature at around 5 weeks. Females go into heat every 4-5 days for about 12 hours. If they have been housed together for that amount of time or longer while being sexually mature, it is possible your doe is already pregnant. Pregnancy, on average, lasts about 28 days. It can range though, from 26-30 days. It should only take a week or two for the doe to begin showing obvious signs of pregnancy. Pregnant rats take on a pear-like shape, bulging prominently at the hips. This is a tell-tale sign that will help you determine if she is indeed pregnant.
If you find that she is pregnant, you should place her in a medium sized, single level cage with plentiful bedding and nesting material. Rats usually produce litters of about 10-12 pups, though they can have as few as 1 or as many as 24 in a single litter. This means you should either be prepared to provide long term care for this many rats, or begin looking for good homes for each and every baby. Simply dumping them on a shelter or rescue is not acceptable.
When she goes into labor, try to keep the environment (including yourself) quiet and calm. There will likely be blood spotting just before she goes into labor, and keeping her on white bedding (such as shredded paper towels) will help this stand out so that you will have a small amount of warning that she is about to give birth. You may want to tape the birth, but if you do make sure you don’t hover too close to the cage and don’t use any camera lights. This may cause the doe unneeded stress. You should count the babies as she births them and make sure she is actively cleaning and nursing them when she finishes birthing. If she experiences serious contractions without producing a baby for two hours, take her to the vet as soon as possible. Complications during birth are uncommon but serious, and in some cases can be life-threatening to the babies and the mother.
You should handle the babies daily from about 1-2 weeks old. When they are about 4 weeks, you should sex them. At 5 weeks, you should separate the males. Ok I’m 18 and have it in my head I cant get pregnant I havnt been using protection with my other half for well over a year but not having regular sex aprox once a week. I’m now trying to get pregnant and having regular sex (Evry 2 days) for last 6 months. I thought I had implantation bleeding last month because I bled a small amount for a couple of days a week before I was due on but I came on a day after I was due. that was the same for me i was 17 wen i fell pregnant i was with my bf for a year and nothing then i fell pregnant and i had to wait 18months before i fell pregnant again unfortunately i miscarried but it took me 18months and i was about 19 when i started again now 3 yrs since my last child ive not got pregnant again no matter how much i try…some women have a cycle as to how long or when u will conceive for me its 18months i hope but honestly there is nothing i think that you can do that will help you conceive apart from eat healthy and take the pregnancy tablets that you can take 3months before and 3 months once you have conceived but my opinion you just have to wait until your body is ready and don’t stress about it…..hard to do but its true when you don’t think about it, it always happens good luck =]

to the poster. well, you have to take into consideration things such as…are your periods regular? if yes then you can track down exactly when your meant to ovulate so you can avoid that week or use protection. however, IF your periods are irregular then you will never know when you become fertile and the more you have unprotected sex the higher the chances are of getting pregnant.
